HELLOFACE SDK / PRIVACY
Data Processing & Privacy Policy
This notice is for HelloFace SDK integrators. It describes how the SDK processes data and how integrators are responsible for managing data in their apps or services. Integrators should provide a privacy policy for their own app or service.
On-device processing
Face detection, capture, feature extraction, liveness detection, comparison, and search all run on the device. The SDK itself does not collect or transmit data and declares no network permissions or capabilities. The host app explains its use of camera access, photo selection, and network permissions to users.
Data involved
- Images and camera frames
- Camera frames, selected or imported photos, and face crops support detection, capture, liveness checks, feature extraction, and preview. The integrating app decides whether to save original images.
- Face features and records
- Face features, record IDs, groups, and tags support enrollment, lookup, and comparison in a local gallery. Records can remain on the device after enrollment or import.
- Runtime state and logs
- Local SDK runtime state, app settings, and logs support operation and troubleshooting. They are managed separately from the app’s face gallery. Logs should contain only what is needed.
- System and device information
- The operating system version and hardware model help select an execution strategy suited to the device.
Integrator responsibilities
Integrators manage the full lifecycle of face data in their apps or services, including collection, use, storage, access, sharing, transfer, and deletion. They should follow applicable requirements in each country or region of deployment, explain data processing to users, provide a channel for requests, and handle those requests.
Keeping computation on the device reduces exposure of face data to external services. For storage, cloud synchronization, or other processing implemented by their apps, integrators are responsible for access controls, storage protection, retention and deletion, and applicable notices, authorization, and safeguards.
The current SDK does not support face recognition for children under 12 and must not be used in financial scenarios.
